This exquisite 4'4" x 7' Persian Qum rug is a testament to the rich heritage of Persian weaving. The wool pile interwoven with silk highlights creates a luxurious texture that is soft to the touch and pleasing to the eye. The rug features a dense, detailed design with a plethora of patterns and motifs that come together in a harmonious display.

The central field of the rug is dominated by a floral medallion, surrounded by an intricate lattice of flowering vines, palmettes, and delicate foliage. The medallion itself is a symphony of florals, with a starkly contrasting palette of reds, blues, and ivory that emphasizes its prominence. This centerpiece is encased in a series of borders: minor guards adorned with meandering vines and florals, and a primary border that displays a more structured pattern, possibly signifying order and protection around the chaotic beauty of the central field.

The color scheme is a rich blend of deep burgundy, navy blue, and cream, accented with touches of gold and light blue. These colors are not just visually striking; they carry cultural significance, with red often representing wealth, joy, and luck, while blue can signify power and the afterlife. The cream background allows the complexity of the design to stand out, with the silk highlights adding an almost imperceptible shimmer that changes with the light.

Symbols such as the boteh or paisley might be observed, which can represent life and eternity, while birds could be interspersed symbolizing freedom or a heavenly messenger. Floral motifs are abundant, which are common in Persian rugs, symbolizing beauty, renewal, and the bounty of nature.
