The Rug Stars · Since Hamburg, 1985

Three Generations.
One Standard.

The Harouni family has traded authentic handmade Persian and Oriental rugs since 1985, when our father, Gabriel, established Harouni Import & Export in Hamburg, building relationships with master weavers across every great rug-producing region.

His sons, Daniel and Samuel, carried that expertise across the Atlantic to Freeport, New York. Every rug is verified hand-knotted and sourced direct from the weaver, no middleman, no machine-made shortcuts. Pure wool and silk, tied knot by knot.

The Rug Encyclopedia

A hand-knotted rug isn’t bought. It’s understood.

Knot density, natural dyes, the meaning woven into a medallion, the more you know, the more obvious the difference between a rug and an heirloom becomes. Learn to read a rug the way we do.
