Hallways
Hallway Rugs
Nobody lingers in a hallway, and that is exactly why its rug matters: it takes more footsteps per square foot than any floor in the house while getting the least credit. A good hallway rug quiets those footsteps, spares the hardwood beneath from decades of the same walking line, and gives guests their first impression of the whole home in passing. Cheap mats surrender to that job in a year or two; hand-knotted wool was bred for it. Every hallway rug on this page is one-of-a-kind and photographed exactly as it will arrive.
The long formats rule here, and our hallway runner rugs hold the deepest selection of them, woven compositions designed for corridors rather than cut down to fit one. For construction, traffic this relentless is what the Kurdish weaves were built for: a Bijar rug in a hallway is closer to infrastructure than to decoration, and small tribal pieces like our Persian Baluch rugs handle short halls and landings with character to spare. Deep reds, blues and busy geometry earn their keep here, hiding the traffic they absorb.
Measure the run, decide how much wood should frame the rug at the edges, usually four to six inches a side, and if the length lands between standard sizes, tell our chat the numbers any hour; odd hallway dimensions are a daily puzzle here and we enjoy them. Free shipping and free returns, all 50 states and Canada. The floor everyone crosses deserves better than an afterthought.
