White Glove Rug Delivery
New York City, Long Island,
New Jersey and Connecticut

Your rug delivered, unrolled, positioned, and perfectly placed. We handle everything from our Freeport, New York warehouse to your door, with furniture moved, packaging removed, and the room ready to enjoy before we leave.

A handmade Persian rug is not furniture you carry through the door and unroll yourself. A large 9 x 12 or oversized rug weighs 60 to 90 pounds, requires two people to carry safely, and must be unrolled in a specific direction to avoid stressing the foundation. It needs to be positioned precisely within the room, aligned to the furniture, and laid flat before it settles. In a formal interior, getting it wrong by even a few inches is immediately visible.

This is why Rugs.net offers white glove delivery service across the greater New York area. We are a direct importer based in Freeport, New York. We know our rugs. We know how they should be handled, unrolled, and placed. When we deliver to your home, you receive not just the rug but the expertise to install it correctly the first time, with your furniture moved and replaced exactly as you want it, and your space ready to live in before we leave.

How It Works: Step by Step

1

Choose Your Rug

Browse the collection at Rugs.net or call us to discuss your space, your existing furniture, and your design direction. We can recommend specific pieces based on your room dimensions and aesthetic. We know every rug in our inventory personally.

2

Schedule Your Delivery

We confirm a delivery window that works for your schedule. We coordinate any building or access requirements in advance, including doorman notification, elevator reservation, and service entrance use where required by your building.

3

Pre-Delivery Inspection

Before we leave our warehouse, the rug is inspected in full. Pile, fringe, construction, and dimensions are verified against the product description. We do not bring a rug to your door that is not in perfect condition.

4

Professional Installation

We carry the rug to the designated room, move any furniture required, unroll the rug in the correct pile direction, and position it precisely. We adjust until the placement is exactly right. We do not rush this step.

5

Furniture Reset and Final Check

All furniture is returned to its position over the rug exactly as you want it. We do a final walk-through with you. If anything is not right, we adjust it before we leave. Packaging is removed completely. The room is ready.

If It Does Not Work, We Return It

If the rug does not work in the space for any reason, color, scale, proportion, simply tell us. We offer free returns with home pickup as our standard policy on every rug we sell. You will never be stuck with a rug you are not completely happy with.

Why Rugs.net for White Glove Delivery

White glove delivery means different things from different companies. From us it means a specific, consistent standard that we apply to every delivery in the greater New York area. Here is what makes ours different.

We are the importer, not a middleman. When Rugs.net delivers your rug, the people bringing it to your door are from the same company that sourced it in Iran, photographed it, documented it, and listed it. We know exactly what it is, what it is made of, and how it should be handled. A third-party logistics company delivering on behalf of a gallery has none of that knowledge. We do.

We are based on Long Island. Our warehouse is in Freeport, New York. We are not shipping from a distant warehouse and calling it local delivery. We are genuinely local, which means faster scheduling, lower overhead, and no middlemen in the logistics chain between our warehouse and your front door.

Our rugs are at direct importer prices. Every rug at Rugs.net is priced without the gallery markup that adds 200 to 400% to what the same rug costs through a Manhattan showroom. When you add white glove delivery from us, you are still paying less than you would for the rug alone through a gallery, before delivery costs are even considered.

Free returns are always available. We offer free returns with home pickup as a permanent policy on every rug, not a special promotion. If the white glove delivery happens and the rug is wrong for the space, call us. We will come back and collect it. No charge. No argument.

Interior designers work with us regularly. We coordinate deliveries with designer schedules, installation timelines, and client move-in dates. We understand how design projects work and we fit into them without disrupting the process. Trade inquiries are welcome.

For Interior Designers and Architects

Interior designers across New York, Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut use Rugs.net as their source for authentic handmade Persian and oriental rugs precisely because we can deliver professionally to their project sites without disrupting their workflow.

We understand the rhythm of a design project. The rug typically arrives after paint, flooring, and window treatments are complete and before final furniture placement. We coordinate our delivery timing to that window, working with your schedule and your client’s building or home access requirements. We arrive when you need us. We are ready when your project is.

For projects requiring multiple rugs across multiple rooms, we deliver all pieces in a single coordinated visit. We are experienced with estate-scale installations, multi-unit residential projects, and high-end commercial spaces. If your project has specific requirements, call us to discuss them. We accommodate unusual situations as a matter of course.

Trade inquiries welcome. Call 855-576-7705 or email info@rugs.net to discuss your project. We offer design trade pricing and project-based delivery scheduling for qualifying interior design and architecture firms.

Placement Expertise: Getting It Right

Correct rug placement is as important as the rug itself. A beautiful piece in the wrong position undermines both the rug and the room. Our white glove team applies the same placement knowledge that guides our product expertise.

Pile direction. A handmade rug has a pile direction, the direction in which the knots were tied and the pile naturally lies. Unrolling in the wrong direction stresses the foundation. We always unroll correctly and position the rug so the pile faces the primary viewing angle, which affects how the color and sheen appear in the room.

Furniture clearance. In a living room, the standard is to have all front legs of major seating on the rug, with the back legs off. In a dining room, the rug should extend at least 24 inches beyond the table edge on all sides so chairs remain on the rug when pulled back. We know these standards and apply them by default unless you direct otherwise.

Centering. A medallion rug must be centered in the room or on the primary furniture group. We measure and position precisely, not approximately. The difference between a centered rug and one that is three inches off center is immediately visible to any trained eye.

Underlays. We recommend a quality rug pad under every handmade rug. The pad protects the rug’s foundation from abrasion against hard flooring, prevents movement, and adds cushion underfoot. We can supply a custom-cut pad sized to your exact rug dimensions and lay it in place as part of the white glove installation.
