The Yalameh tribe are a subset of the Luri group in the south central part of Iran who were once moved with their flocks of sheep but are now settled. They make vibrant rugs which have super soft lustrous wool and which are often now woven on a cotton base for more stability. The main design outline is generally set but the infilling of plants and flowers is more freeform and from the weavers’ imagination. Very much a true artisan rug.
