This 8'2 x 11'4 Persian Bijar Iron Rug is a powerful example of the legendary “Iron Rug” weaving tradition, known for its dense construction and remarkable durability. Woven in deep brick red and ivory tones, this piece delivers bold presence while maintaining refined Persian symmetry and balance.

Design and Motifs

The rug features a commanding diamond medallion set within a large geometric field filled with intricate Herati motifs. The allover pattern creates a tightly structured composition, giving the rug its distinctive Bijar character. The repeating floral and rosette elements create visual rhythm while the angular layout reinforces its strong architectural aesthetic.

Border and Framing

A wide ivory main border frames the rug with repeating floral and leaf elements, surrounded by multiple guard borders in deep red and dark brown. The contrast between the ivory frame and the rich red field enhances the medallion’s prominence and creates a striking visual outline.
