9'10 x 13'3 Authentic Persian Kashan Rug | Featured on Shark Tank | Red Field | Navy Medallion | Hand-Knotted Wool

This is an exceptional Persian Kashan rug in brand new, never-used condition, hand-knotted in pure wool on a cotton foundation at 220 to 240 knots per square inch. Kashan is widely recognized as the most iconic and collected Persian rug city in the world, and this exact design has been featured on Shark Tank as an example of what a genuine handmade Persian rug looks like. The generous 9'10 x 13'3 Persian Kashan format makes it ideal for formal dining rooms seating eight to ten, large living rooms, great rooms, master bedrooms, and home libraries where it can anchor the whole space. The classic crimson red, navy, and ivory palette is the most recognizable Kashan color combination and works beautifully in traditional, transitional, and contemporary interiors.

Design and Motifs

The composition is the classical Kashan medallion and corner design that collectors recognize instantly. At the center sits a navy blue diamond medallion layered with an ivory cartouche and a sky blue inner panel that carries a tight geometric floral rosette. The medallion is flanked above and below by navy pendants that echo its shape in miniature. Four navy corner spandrels anchor the field and carry elaborate floral vocabulary of palmettes, curling leaves, and flowering vines in ivory, rose, and green. The crimson red field between the medallion and the spandrels is covered edge to edge in the classic all-over floral vocabulary of rosettes, lotus blossoms, palmettes, and arabesque vines that gives Kashan rugs their signature richness. The rug is framed by a navy main border carrying a graceful palmette and vine scroll in red, ivory, and sky blue, flanked by multiple narrow guard stripes that give the rug its polished finished edge.

Colors and Placement

The field reads as a rich crimson red, the signature Kashan ground color that collectors search for by name. The navy medallion and navy corner spandrels anchor the composition with deep contrast, while ivory and sky blue run through the medallion cartouche, the guard stripes, and the floral outlines to lift the whole rug. Throughout the field and border you will find accents of soft gold, olive green, pale pink, burgundy, tan, rose, and quiet yellow highlights in the smallest floral centers, giving the rug tremendous chromatic depth without ever breaking from the red, navy, and ivory framework. This rug pairs beautifully with warm wood tones, cream and linen upholstery, navy or brass accent pieces, and both traditional and transitional interiors. It is equally at home in a contemporary space that wants one strong traditional anchor piece with genuine craftsmanship.

Kashan Rugs and Construction

Kashan is a historic weaving city in central Iran with a carpet-making tradition going back more than four hundred years, and Kashan rugs are among the most recognized and collected Persian rugs in the world. At 220 to 240 knots per square inch this piece sits at the heart of serious workshop Kashan production, tied by hand in pure wool on a pure cotton foundation, and the 0.4 inch pile height gives you the durability and warm hand that make Kashan rugs famous for lasting multiple generations.
