This 10 x 13 Persian Mahal carries a deep navy field worked edge to edge with a large-scale allover floral design, the kind of generous, breathing layout that has made Mahal weaving a favorite for big rooms. There is no heavy central medallion here. Instead a small gold and rose star anchors the very center, and the eye is carried outward across sweeping vine scrolls, curved leaves, and broad palmettes that rotate in offset pairs. The drawing is bold and confident, and the navy ground gives the reds, golds, and ivories real depth and glow.

Design and Motifs

The field is built from a rhythm of large curved palmettes and full open rosettes linked by thin ivory and red vine tracery. Around the center you can see the signature Mahal sweep, pairs of long curling leaves that arc like crescents and frame clusters of blossoms. Small four-petal flowerheads in ivory and navy punctuate the spaces between, and tiny accents of teal and rose keep the pattern lively at close range. It is an allover composition rather than a strict medallion layout, so the rug reads beautifully from any direction and works in a room where furniture covers part of the floor.

The navy ground is the foundation, rich and saturated, and it sets off a warm red main border along with gold, ivory, rose, and soft sky-blue detailing throughout.
