This is a true palace-size Afghan Sultani, measuring just over 18 by 23 feet, hand-knotted to cover the largest rooms with a single continuous design. The field is a soft, smoky grey that lets a colorful all-over floral pattern breathe across the surface, giving an oversize rug a calm, livable feel rather than an overwhelming one. Sultani weaving is prized for its lustrous hand-spun wool and its faithful take on classic Persian village patterns, and this piece is brand new in excellent, never used condition.

Design and Motifs

The design is an all-over floral lattice built from large palmettes, pomegranate forms with finely speckled bodies, rosettes, and serrated leaves, all linked by slender vinescrolls that travel the length of the field. The pattern carries the spirit of tribal and geometric Persian village weaving while staying open and rhythmic rather than crowded. A wide multi-stripe border frames the field, with the main band holding a procession of cypress trees and upright floral sprays, edged by smaller guard stripes of repeating blossoms and vine.

Colors and Placement

A neutral grey to taupe ground anchors the whole piece, and against it the weavers set rust, brick red, teal, turquoise, navy, ivory, and soft green so the flowers read clearly without ever turning loud. At roughly 18 by 24 feet this is a palace and great-room scale rug, made for formal living rooms, open-plan spaces, large dining rooms, and grand entries where a smaller rug would float. To facilitate a return, contact our Customer Service team via email at info@rugs.net with your order number to request a shipping label(s) for your item(s). Purchased from Rugs.net policy can be refunded within 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be returned in like kind packaging.

Before we send out your item we take pictures for future references.

After returned item, management will inspect your item. We will send you an email notifying you that we have received your item. Returned Items most be in original or like-kind packaging.

Processing time: please give us up to five business days to process your return, and an additional 2-3 business to receive your money back. If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.
