Among Persian weaving centers, Qum holds a singular position: its workshops produce nothing but the finest silk, and decades of rivalry between the city's leading ateliers have pushed knot counts, color range, and precision to heights earlier generations would not have thought possible. This Tropical Rainbow pictorial from the Noruzi workshop shows what that rivalry has produced. Knotted entirely in silk on a silk foundation at approximately 900 knots per square inch, signed twice in the guard border, it is about ten years old, never used, and in flawless condition.
Design and Motifs
A sunburst of orange and yellow arcs across a sky that shifts through purple, pink, and blue, while macaws, a crested cockatoo, a rosella, and other parrots wheel among monstera leaves, fan palms, and banana fronds. The pictorial field is framed by a narrow floral guard border, and beyond it an outer border unlike anything in classical Qum weaving: birds of paradise, calla lilies, roses, and morning glories scattered across a ground that changes color as it travels around the rug. The woven Noruzi signature appears at both the top and bottom edge.
Colors and Placement
The palette is fearless: saturated orange and gold against emerald jungle greens, cooled by sky blue and softened with pink and lavender. Light moves across the pure silk pile so the scene reads differently from every angle. At 4'6" x 6'7", a comfortable 5x7 footprint, it can anchor a sitting area or bedroom, but a piece this fine and this vivid is most often hung, where it commands a wall like a painting under glass.

To facilitate a return, contact our Customer Service team via email at info@rugs.net with your order number to request a shipping label(s) for your item(s). Purchased from Rugs.net policy can be refunded within 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be returned in like kind packaging.
Before we send out your item we take pictures for future references.
