This Persian Bijar rug measures 6'7" x 9'5" and carries the dense, hard-wearing construction that earned Bijar its nickname, the iron rug of Persia. Hand-knotted in wool on a cotton foundation and never used, it covers the field with a fine repeating Herati design in deep, glowing red.
Design and Motifs
The field is filled edge to edge with the classic Herati pattern, a lattice of small diamonds, rosettes, and curved fish leaves repeating across the red ground with no central medallion. This allover drawing is a Bijar signature, and the tight knotting keeps every tiny element crisp. A wide ivory main border of palmettes and scrolling vines frames the field, set off by red and navy guard stripes that carry the eye around the whole rug.
Colors and Placement
A deep red field anchors the palette, worked with navy, rust, gold, sky blue, and brown, then framed by a luminous ivory border. Bijar is a Kurdish town in northwest Persia whose weavers pack the wefts so tightly that the finished carpet is famously dense, stiff, and durable, the quality behind the iron rug name. To facilitate a return, contact our Customer Service team via email at info@rugs.net with your order number to request a shipping label(s) for your item(s). Purchased from Rugs.net policy can be refunded within 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be returned in like kind packaging.
Before we send out your item we take pictures for future references.

After returned item, management will inspect your item. We will send you an email notifying you that we have received your item.
