12'6" x 19'6" Antique Persian Bakshaish Palace Size Rug | Geometric Anchored Medallion | Circa 1900
Woven around 1900, this palace size Persian Bakshaish is a true antique at an extraordinary 12'6" x 19'6". Bakshaish weavings from this era are prized by collectors for their bold geometry and tribal character, and examples in this size rarely come to market. The pile is 100% wool, hand knotted on a cotton foundation.
Design and Motifs
A dramatic anchored medallion runs down the center: a midnight blue stepped diamond holding an ivory geometric core, extended by long pendant anchors ending in smaller blossom filled medallions at each end. The surrounding field is covered in a delicate allover lattice of small flowers, and stepped denim blue spandrels with ivory panels fill the corners. An ivory main border of angular hooked motifs, flanked by narrow rust guard bands, frames the whole composition.
Colors and Condition
The field reads as a dark coral red (Pantone Bossa Nova) softened by more than a century of natural mellowing, with ivory, brown, midnight blue, denim blue, orange, and beige throughout. As an antique of this age it shows honest, desirable even wear across the pile, the kind collectors look for as proof of authenticity. It is clean, in good condition, and the sides and ends are secured.

To facilitate a return, contact our Customer Service team via email at info@rugs.net with your order number to request a shipping label(s) for your item(s). Purchased from Rugs.net policy can be refunded within 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be returned in like kind packaging.
Before we send out your item we take pictures for future references.

After returned item, management will inspect your item. We will send you an email notifying you that we have received your item.
