7'3x7'3 Round Modern Nepali Rug | Mauve Field, Art Deco Pastel Border | Brand New
This is a round modern Nepali rug, 7'3x7'3 across, brand new and never used. A large open field in soft heather mauve sits at the center, and the whole circle is ringed by a free-flowing Art Deco border worked in dusty pastels. It is hand-knotted in wool on a cotton foundation in the Tibetan-Nepali tradition, with the plush, slightly shaggy pile those weavers are known for. Every rug we ship includes a certificate of authenticity. At 7'3 across it lands right in our range of 7 foot round rugs, an easy size to float under a round table or anchor a small seating area.

Any faint lines you see across the open field are simply fold wrinkles from folding the rug and stacking rugs on top of one another in storage. They are not wear, fading, or damage. They relax and disappear once the rug is ironed, and they also settle out on their own after the rug has laid flat for a while. We steam and press every rug before it ships.
Design and Motifs
The layout is simple and confident: a wide, quiet field surrounded by a single decorative ring at the edge, so the whole rug reads like a framed circle. The border is where all the invention lives. Instead of a repeating geometric run, it flows like a collage of abstract shapes, stylized fans and feathers, curling leaves and ribbons, scrolls, and little checkerboard patches, with scale-like and striped forms tucked between them. The drawing is loose and asymmetric, outlined in charcoal so each shape stays crisp, and it carries that unmistakable 1980s Art Deco spirit where nothing is quite symmetrical and every section is a little different from the last. Because the field is left open, the eye keeps traveling back around the border to read it.
Color and Palette
The color story is soft and dusty throughout. The field is a heather mauve that leans toward aubergine in places and lightens toward lavender in others, with the natural abrash of hand-dyed wool moving gently across it. The border sets a whole pastel range against that ground: dusty rose and blush pink, sage and deeper olive green, camel, tan and warm beige, cool periwinkle and lilac, with charcoal outlines and touches of cream. Nothing is saturated or loud. The effect is muted and painterly, the kind of faded designer palette that settles easily into a calm, neutral room.
Origin and Weave
This piece is hand-knotted in Nepal, home to one of the great modern weaving traditions, where Tibetan and Nepali artisans knot thick, lustrous wool into contemporary designs. At roughly 80 to 100 knots per square inch it is a sturdy, medium weave with a deep, comfortable pile that feels wonderful underfoot and wears well for decades. It is a genuine modern Oriental rug, hand-tied on a cotton foundation and finished with an ivory fringe all the way around the circle.
