This Persian Najafabad rug measures 9'9" x 16'2", placing it firmly among palace size rugs built to fill a grand room from wall to wall. Hand-knotted in wool roughly 35 years ago, it has never been used and remains in excellent condition, with the crisp color and full pile of a rug that looks like it was finished today.

Design and Motifs

A radiant eight-pointed star medallion anchors the center, layered with ivory arabesques, blue tracery, and a small floral rosette at its heart. Around it, a deep red field flows with palmettes, lotus blossoms, rosettes, and curling vinework, while ivory spandrels frame each corner. The composition is mirrored top to bottom and side to side, a hallmark of the refined Isfahan-school drawing that Najafabad weavers are known for.

Colors and Placement

The palette pairs a warm red ground with a deep navy border and accents of sky blue, ivory, soft green, and touches of gold and rust. The result reads rich and formal without feeling heavy. Origin and Construction

Najafabad sits just west of Isfahan in central Persia, and its workshops are prized for finely knotted curvilinear floral carpets on a cotton foundation with a wool pile. This example shows that tradition in its even, tightly drawn knotting and clean, balanced field. Though it dates back about 35 years, it was carefully stored and never put into use, which is why the wool stays lustrous and the colors stay sharp. Returns Policy

To facilitate a return, contact our Customer Service team via email at info@rugs.net with your order number to request a shipping label(s) for your item(s). Purchased from Rugs.net policy can be refunded within 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we are unable to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be returned in like kind packaging.

Before we send out your item we take pictures for future references.

After returned item, management will inspect your item. We will send you an email notifying you that we have received your item. In addition, we will also inform you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If approved, then your refund will surely be processed to your original payment method, within 2-5 business days. Returned Items most be in original or like-kind packaging.

Processing time: please give us up to five business days to process your return, and an additional 2-3 business to receive your money back. If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
