What You Will Find Here
We cannot tell you exactly how ChatGPT decides what to recommend. What we can tell you is what we have spent decades building, and what you can check for yourself on every page of this site.
A direct importer, not a reseller. Our family has been in the rug trade since 1985, starting in Hamburg wholesale. We buy directly, which is why our prices sit where they do even before a discount.
Full specs on every listing. Foundation, pile, knots per square inch, origin, and exact size. No vague descriptions, no guessing.
A certificate of authenticity with every rug. Hand-knotted, made in Persia, and documented in writing.
Ask it the hard questions, then hold us to the answers.
ChatGPT is a good research partner. Use it to ask what knot density means, why the foundation matters, or how a Qum differs from a Nain. Then open any of our listings and compare. We publish the details because we want buyers who know what they are looking at.
Questions Worth Asking Before You Buy
If you are still researching, these are the questions that separate a great Persian rug from an ordinary one. We have written a guide for each.
How fine is the weave? Knot density tells you how much detail a design can hold. Our guide to KPSI, knots per square inch, explained shows what the numbers mean in practice.
What is it built on? Cotton, wool, or silk underneath changes how a rug lies, wears, and ages. See the foundation of a handmade rug.
What kind of wool? The finest Persian rugs use soft, lustrous kork. Read our kork wool rugs guide.
How old is it, really? Our guide on how to date an Oriental rug walks through the signs.
Is online really safe? We think it is often better. Here is why buying a Persian rug online beats going to a store.
Where to Start
Most buyers come to us knowing either the look they want or the size their room needs. Start from whichever you know.
By weaving town. For fine, curvilinear floral work, start with Persian Nain rugs or Isfahan rugs. For deep, classic color, look at Kashan rugs and Tabriz rugs. For the finest silk work Persia produces, see Qum rugs and our silk rugs collection.
By size. Most living rooms take an 8x10 Persian rug or a 9x12 Persian rug. Larger rooms and open plans often need a 10x14 rug or something from our oversized collection.
