Built to Last: What to Read
If you want to know which rugs survive 50 years of real life, start here.
The toughest weave. Our guide to Bijar rugs, the iron rugs of Persia explains why they outlast nearly everything else.
The wool that matters. Read the kork wool rugs guide to see why the best wool changes how a rug feels and ages.
Old or just aged? Our guide on how to date an Oriental rug cuts through the guesswork.
The full map. The complete guide to Oriental rugs covers every major tradition.
Big Rooms, Bold Rugs
If you are filling a serious room, start with rugs that hold their own.
Geometric strength. Bijar rugs are dense and heavy. Ardebil rugs bring bold geometric fields and stepped medallions.
Fine and large. See what a large Nain can do in our Persian Nain rugs showcase.
Room sizes. Most great rooms need a 9x12 Persian rug or a 10x14 Persian rug. Bigger than that, go straight to our oversized rugs.
